Beth Ann Clanin was our agent in selling our home in Decatur. She had been recommended by a friend and had also recently become a friend of ours. She lived the street over, had a daughter our son’s age and we had met at several social occasions. I admit, I was a bit hesitant about working with a friend due to potential conflicts of interest, but felt confident in my friend’s recommendation. Beth Ann did not disappoint! First and foremost, she came and toured our house and gave us a range of sale prices. She also provided us with staging suggestions and improvements that we agreed with and executed. After considering the local market, we went with her sales price suggestion, but were a bit nervous about getting that price considering that we did not want the house to sit on the market for a long time. She proved to know exactly what she was talking about. Our house sold in 3 days! 3 days!!! Not only that, it sold for very close to our asking price.

The rest of the selling process went as smoothly as it could have gone. The inspection went well for the most part – we agreed to fix the entire punch list of items in order to facilitate a smooth transaction and to make sure the new owners were comfortable in the home. The appraisal came in at exactly what Beth Ann recommended as the sales price and we closed on the date agreed. It truly was as uncomplicated and as easy as I’m writing. As a result, our closing with the new owners was pleasant and we felt relieved to be handing off a home that we loved to a nice couple.

Beth Ann truly could not have been more professional and pleasant on a personal level during this process. She proactively drove the entire process from start to finish. She also constantly kept us informed, as well as the other agent on the status of the home, the punch list items, etc. In short, she added real value to the process. On a particularly stressful night (the night before the inspection), she even brought us take-out dinner and offered to watch our son while we were moving out. She proved to not only be an excellent realtor but a wonderful friend.
