Spring has sprung in Atlanta, which means it is officially festival season! Home to some of the Southeast’s largest festivals, the metro Atlanta area offers something that appeals to nearly everyone’s tastes each weekend. From street markets and food festivals to concerts and art shows, residents around Atlanta have a variety of events to attend throughout the season. Here is our list of the city’s can’t-miss springtime festivals:

Atlanta Dogwood Festival: Held April 11 through 13 at Piedmont Park, this is an annual celebration of the blooming of the city’s native trees. Piedmont Park is filled with live music, arts and crafts, food booths and family-friendly activities, including the U.S. Disc Dog Southern Nationals, which stars the top disc dogs in the nation. Admission is free to the Dogwood Festival.

Hapeville Spring into Action Festival: Held at the Tom E. Morris Sports Complex, this festival celebrates baseball and softball opening day games and includes a 5K run/walk, mixed doubles tennis tournament, community parade and much more. The festival is held on Saturday, April 12 and ticket prices vary by event.

Sweetwater 420 Fest: The 10th anniversary of the Atlanta-based brewery’s festival will move to its new home at Centennial Olympic Park. Held April 18 through 20, the festival features an artist’s market, comedy tent, 5K race and live music. Ticket prices range from $10 to $135.

Taste of Henry: More than 25 local restaurants will be competing for four coveted awards and offering samples of delicious fare for attendees to sample. Ticket prices range from $5 to $30 with proceeds benefitting A Friend’s House, Henry County’s home for abused, neglected and abandoned children. The Taste of Henry will be held April 18 from 6 until 9 p.m. at the Jason T. Harper Event Center at Heritage Park in McDonough.

Georgia Renaissance Festival: An annual favorite, this event brings a 16thcentury European country fair to the city. Visitors to the festival will find characters wearing period costumes, jousting tournaments, glass-blowing demonstrations and sword-swallowing shows, as well as games, rides and children’s activities. Located off of I-85 just a short drive from Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, the festival is open Saturdays, Sundays and Memorial Day from April 19 through June 8. Ticket prices range from $8.95 to $19.95 per person.

Inman Park Festival: This festival is a celebration of the local street market and features local art, a 5K run where participants are encouraged to come in costume, the famed Inman Park Festival Parade of Eclectic Fun and the Inman Park Tour of Homes, which showcases the stunning Victorian homes from the late 1800s that can be found throughout the neighborhood. The festival also has children’s activities, live music and dance shows that feature some of the city’s best ballet and modern dance companies. Admission to the Inman Park Festival is free is being held April 25 through 27.

Taste of East Point: Local restaurants offer an array of wine and food to taste at this annual event, and attendees can also take in local art displays and the sounds of talented musicians. Held on West Cleveland Avenue across from the East Point MARTA station and City Hall, this year’s Taste of East Point is being held on April 26.

Alpharetta Arts StreetFest: This yearly celebration of the arts features work of artists from throughout the U.S. Attendees can hear live jazz and acoustic music, see cultural arts performances, enjoy children’s activities and eat festival cuisine. The StreetFest will be held on South Main Street on April 26 and 27 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Shaky Knees Music Festival: Held at Atlantic Station for the first time this year, this event features national and regional music acts, as well as food trucks and artisans. Highlights from this year’s musical lineup include the Alabama Shakes, Modest Mouse, Dropkick Murphy’s, The Whigs, Jason Isbell and much more. Music starts at 12:30 p.m. May 9 through 11, and tickets for the festival are priced from $84 to $575.

Sweet Auburn Springfest: Known as the largest free outdoor festival in the southeast, this event is the perfect mix of live music, food and fun for the whole family. With 10 stages of entertainment and dozens of vendors with art, jewelry and fashion, as well as the Fantastic Fun Zone full of rides and games for children, this event offers something for everyone. This year’s Springfest will be held May 9 through 11.

Buckhead Spring Arts and Crafts Festival: Held at Chastain Park, the festival includes craft works and fine art from more than 175 artists and artisans, as well as live music, activities for children and much more. This year’s spring festival will be held Saturday, May 10 from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. Sunday, May 11 from 11 a.m. until 6 p.m.

Atlanta Jazz Festival: Regarded as one of the largest free jazz festivals in the country, the month-long jazz celebration culminates in this musical showcase that features both jazz legends and up-and-coming jazz greats. The festival is held May 23 through 25 at Piedmont Park.

Decatur Arts Festival: This annual event kicks off with the ArtWalk on Friday night, and continues through the weekend with a juried artist market that celebrates culture, community and creativity. Attendees can enjoy performance art, dancing and special events just for teens and kids in downtown Decatur from May 23 through 25.

Atlanta Food and Wine Festival: Eat, drink and enjoy all things southern at this annual celebration that includes award-winning chefs, sommeliers, beverage innovators and industry experts. Held May 29 through June 1 at the Loews Atlanta Hotel, ticket prices range for various events during the festival.
